Hey, You Guys?

In case I forget later, 3 is the number of glasses of champagne it takes for me to be drunk.  Also, apparently you can send champagne through the mail now.  Thanks Sheridan!  Except the problem is that sometimes fiances move to New York and people are alone and the problem with champagne is that you have to drink it all at once or it goes flat and you shouldn't throw away perfectly good champagne because that's bad for the environment and wasteful so you have to drink it.  And then this happens.

Question: does anyone else wonder how other people see color?  Like what if the way I see purple is not how you see purple but we call the same thing purple?  What if my purple is your neon green?  Or worse, what if my neon green is your purple?  I hope not.  Purple, my purple, is such a lovely color.

It's thundering.  I love it.  One of the things I miss most about Texas (where I grew up) is the thunderstorms.  Thunder confuses Lily.  Every time it thunders, she picks her head up and looks around.  She's pretty adorable.

I'm uncomfortable with the phrase "you guys," though I use it often, because when I was in second grade, there was a group of cool girls (as cool as second graders get) who I wanted to hang with and I approached them at some point and said "hey, you guys!" and one of the Miss Too Cool For Schools whipped around, put her hand on her hip, and said "we're not guys, we're girls."  I was mortified.  That's in my head to this day whenever I use the phrase "you guys" when referring to girls.  To this day.  Did I say "guy"?  I meant bitch.  Take that, second grader.  The things that stick with us.

You can drink champagne because you passed the New York bar exam, sure, but sometimes you can also drink champagne because it's a Tuesday night and what the hell.  That's it.  For shits and giggles.  I think I'll have another glass and not delete this post.
